  • The Padres' commitment to youth baseball continues in 2014 with their signature Youth Baseball Initiative. Since 2012 the Padres have donated more than 40,000 jerseys and caps to some of the region's youth baseball players within the closest proximity of Petco Park.
  • This program supports five Little League districts throughout San Diego county (Districts 32,33,41,42 and 66) and supplies the leagues teams, t-ball through minors, with Padres-branded, performance quality jerseys and matching "SD" caps. Leagues had 12 different styles of jerseys to choose from representing styles throughout Padres history.
  • Participating leagues are encouraged to use the funds that would have been allocated towards jerseys and caps for improvement projects that benefit the entire league.
  • Here are some fun facts for 2014:
    • 50 leagues
    • 1,076 teams
    • More than 14,700 jerseys
    • Nearly 30 Opening Day Visits
  • For more information about the program or to receive information on how you can request a Padres visit to your youth baseball/softball Opening Day, please email community@padres.com.

"I cannot stress enough how much of a god send the Padres are for our Little League this year. The jerseys couldn't have come at a more crucial time as our league began this year with a total of $.68. We are confident that your generosity will not only serve as a catapult in terms of numbers (more happy parents, more returning families) but also will serve the purpose of creating many, many new young fans."

Future Padres Opening Days

"By accepting the Padres jersey donation, our Little League will be able to keep our registration fees among the lowest in youth sports. We are an all-volunteer, self-supporting league and receive no money from the city to help run and maintain our facility. The Padres jerseys initiative allows us to pay our bills, purchase equipment for the players and for field maintenance and provide a safe and fun environment for our players."
