Lee, Ramirez lead way as Cubs prevail

Sluggers each go 3-for-5 with two RBIs; Eyre earns first save

Cubs at the plate: In midseason form, Derrek Lee doubled twice, driving home two runs, and singled, scoring on Aramis' Ramirez's double, the first of his three hits. Ryan Theriot, Matt Murton and Cliff Floyd had RBI singles.

Angels at the plate: Vladimir Guerrero cracked a solo homer to left, his second of the spring, and singled, and Garret Anderson doubled and blasted a two-run homer to center, his second. Gary Matthews Jr. singled twice, driving in three runs, and Shea Hillenbrand doubled and singled.

Cubs on the mound: Jason Marquis worked 4 1/3 innings, surrendering four earned runs on seven hits, including a pair of homers, striking out two and walking two. Rocky Cherry, in his 10th appearance of a strong spring, got four outs, striking out two while giving up three hits and an unearned run, and lefty Scott Eyre nailed down his first save of the spring with a scoreless ninth after Bob Howry pitched a scoreless eighth.

Angels on the mound: Joe Saunders wasn't hit extremely hard but surrendered seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in six innings, walking one, striking out one and hitting a batter. Scot Shields worked one scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Cactus League records: Cubs 14-12; Angels 15-12

Up next: The Cubs send left-hander Rich Hill (1-1, 4.09) out in his fourth start of the spring on Tuesday, facing left-hander Jorge De La Rosa and Kansas City in Mesa.

The Angels tab right-hander Dustin Moseley, trying to nail down a rotation spot, to start against the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Gavin Floyd at Tempe Diablo Stadium. Moseley is 1-0 with a 1.98 ERA in four appearances.
