The Chicago Cubs today announced Sharon Pannozzo has resigned as director of media relations for the club effective Dec. 31, 2006. Ms. Pannozzo will remain with the club through Dec. 31 to ensure a smooth transition for the organization.

"We thank Sharon for her many years of service to the Cubs and the media and we wish her great success in all her future endeavors," said Cubs' President John McDonough.

No decision on a replacement has been made as yet. Pannozzo joined the Cubs in 1982 as a public relations assistant. She was promoted to assistant director of media relations in 1986 and named media relations director in December 1990.
