Cubs recall Aardsma, option Ryu
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

The Chicago Cubs today recalled right-handed pitcher David Aardsma from Iowa (AAA) and optioned right-handed pitcher Jae Kuk Ryu to the Triple-A affiliate.

Aardsma, 24, is 1-1 with five saves and a 2.18 ERA (5 ER/20.2 IP) in 15 relief appearances for Iowa this season. He's limited opponents to a .186 batting average while striking out 23 and walking six.

Aardsma began the season with Iowa and was recalled by the Cubs on April 17. He made four relief appearances with Chicago, going 1-0 with a 10.50 ERA (7 ER/6.0 IP), before he was optioned back to Iowa on May 1.

Ryu, who lasted 1.1 innings in his first career Major League start yesterday vs. Atlanta, has a 2-3 record with a 3.16 ERA (18 ER/51.1 IP) in nine games (eight starts) at Iowa this season.
