Cubs place Wood and Prior on disabled list; Reduce roster to 30
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

Mesa, AZ -- The Chicago Cubs today placed pitchers Mark Prior and Kerry Wood on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 27. Prior was placed on the disabled list with a right subscapularis strain, while Wood continues his recovery from right shoulder arthroscopy.

The Cubs also optioned pitchers David Aardsma, Angel Guzman and Jae Kuk Ryu to Iowa (AAA) and returned catcher Casey Kopitzke to the minor league camp.

The Cubs spring training roster now stands at 30 players. The breakdown by position: 15 pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders and six outfielders.
