Broadcast schedule

The Chicago Cubs today announced their local television schedule for the 2006 campaign.

All 162 regular-season contests are scheduled to be televised in the Chicago area. WGN will televise 72 games, Comcast SportsNet will carry 72 games - including eight on Comcast SportsNet Plus - and WCIU will televise eight games.

Eight Cubs contests are currently scheduled to be televised by the Fox Network, while two games are scheduled for ESPN.

WGN will televise the Cubs' April 3 season opener at Cincinnati. Comcast SportsNet Chicago's first telecast will take place April 5 at Cincinnati.

In addition, seven Cubs spring training affairs will be televised in Chicago (five on WGN and two on Comcast SportsNet).

Cubs games have been televised by WGN since 1948 and by WCIU since 2000. This will be Comcast SportsNet's second season televising the Cubs.

Both Len Kasper and Bob Brenly return for their second season in the Cubs' broadcast booth.
