Carlos Zambrano's right elbow is fine, and the Cubs' All-Star will start Saturday in Game 2 of the three-game series against the New York Mets.

Zambrano was accidentally hit by White Sox coach Joey Cora's bat during batting practice at Tuesday's All-Star Game in Pittsburgh. He did not pitch in the game, which created a problem for National League manager Phil Garner, who had planned on using Zambrano in the fourth and fifth innings.

"It was more my fault than his," Zambrano said of Cora, who was on the American League All-Star team's coaching staff.

On Saturday, the Mets will start All-Star Tom Glavine, who last faced the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Sept. 8, 2001, when he was with the Atlanta Braves. The Cubs are 11-21 this season against left-handed starters.

In the series opener Friday, the Cubs lost, 6-3. The outcome might have been different if they had turned a double play in the fourth inning, but an errant throw by shortstop Ronny Cedeno led to two runs.

"We make one mistake and it's killing us every day," Cubs second baseman Todd Walker said. "When I was back home over the All-Star break, a lot of people would ask if this has been the toughest year of my life, and of course it has. You make one mistake and it beats you. The other teams make mistakes, too, but they're able to hide them."

Pitching matchup
NYM: LHP Tom Glavine (11-2, 3.48 ERA)
Glavine is unbeaten in his last 14 starts, but has won just three of the last eight. He had a 4.93 ERA in June and has a 4.76 ERA in two July outings. Glavine has gone five, five, and 6 1/3 innings in his last three starts.

CHI: RHP Carlos Zambrano (8-3, 3.24 ERA)
Zambrano was the Cubs' lone All-Star representative. He tuned up for the game by striking out six over six innings against Milwaukee on July 7, and raised his season total to 124 Ks. He'd probably rather be away from home. Big Z is 6-0 with a 2.24 ERA on the road.

Players to watch
Derrek Lee is 15-for-50 against Glavine, with two home runs -- but he's also struck out 15 times. Aramis Ramirez is 8-for-17 against Glavine with two homers.
