Cubs announce 2008 spring broadcast schedule12/17/2007 4:30 PM ET
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs today announced its Spring Training broadcast schedule, which will feature 12 games televised by Cubs broadcast partners (six by Comcast SportsNet and six by WGN-TV). In addition, WGN Radio will carry 10 spring games. In all, 16 of Chicago's 32 games will be aired on local radio or TV.
The first spring game to be televised by Comcast SportsNet features Chicago against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, March 1 at 2 p.m. CT from Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. Besides its live telecasts, Comcast will air replays of three games, each starting at 7 p.m. that evening. Those contests are: March 10 vs. Milwaukee, March 21 vs. Colorado and March 24 vs. Texas.
WGN-TV's first telecast will be March 8 at 2 p.m. when the Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Cubs' spring schedule opens February 28 when Chicago travels to Scottsdale, Ariz., to play San Francisco at 2 p.m. That contest will be carried on WGN Radio.
