DECEMBER 6-7, 2013 - REDSFEST
Redsfest

On December 6th & 7th, the Cincinnati Reds held their annual fan festival, Redsfest, in downtown Cincinnati. The Reds Arizona Operations staff and City of Goodyear officials were on hand to answer questions and sign up fans for 2014 Spring Training tickets. Fans that stopped by the Goodyear booth received visitor guides to Goodyear, Arizona, Spring Training schedules and other items.

NOVEMBER 7, 2013 - MOVE-A-THON
Redsfest

On Nov. 7th, 2013, students at Estrella Mountain Elementary School participated in their 4th Annual Move-A-Thon, a "fun"draiser that helps their PTO raise money for school supplies. Local businesses participated in fitness stations. Minor league players, Dan Langfield and El'Hajj Muhammad, and Minor League Medical Coordinator, Richard Stark, demonstrated how to do various exercises that ballplayers do using the agility ladder and medicine ball. Each student received an autograph for participating in the exercises.

June-August 2013 - West Valley Hospital Ice Cream Social
West Valley Hospital Ice Cream Social

During the hot summer months in AZ, the Reds minor league players volunteer to serve ice cream to patients, guests and hospital staff at West Valley Hospital. Players who participated in 2013 were Manuel Aybar, Narciso Crook, Jarrett Freeland, Alex Greer, Chad Jones, Oswaldo Mieres, Dakota Mitchell, Evan Mitchell and Jesus Parra.

July 8, 2013 - YMCA Complex Visit
YMCA Healthy Kids Day

On July 8th, twenty-eight YMCA kids toured the Reds Player Development Complex and had a Q & A session with 3 Cincinnati Reds minor league players, Jakub Izold, Jeremy Kivel and Fabian Roman. The players shared about their background and the importance of surrounding yourself with trustworthy people. After the Q & A, the players signed autographs and took pictures with the kids.

May 28, 2013 - Goddard School Visit
Goddard School Visit

On May 28, 2013, Nick Travieso and Jackson Stephens paid a visit to Goddard School in Goodyear to read to students and talked about life lessons. They also handed out stickers and bookmarkers to the students.

May 24, 2013 - EMT Appreciation Week at West Valley Hospital
EMT Appreciation Week at West Valley Hospital

Manuel Aybar, Luke Moran, Werleen Taveras and Amir Garrett served ice cream and signed autographs to EMT's and hospital staff at West Valley Hospital during EMT Appreciation Week.

April 27, 2013 - YMCA Healthy Kids Day
YMCA Complex Visit

Four Cincinnati Reds minor league players, Robert Lewis-Walker, Bernardo Moreta, Jose Rosario and Joe Housey, participated in the YMCA Healthy Kids Day in Goodyear, AZ on April 27, 2013. The players signed autographs and spoke to kids on the importance of eating healthy and exercising. They also participated in Zumba and other classes that the YMCA offers.

April 17, 2013 - Arizona in ACTION Bike Helmet Reward
Arizona in ACTION Bike Helmet Reward

Arizona in ACTION, which promotes, educates and motivates people of all ages in Arizona toward living healthier lifestyles, also teaches kids about the importance of wearing helmets when riding their bikes, skateboards and rollerblades. On April 17th, six Cincinnati Reds minor league players, Nick Travieso, Jackson Stephens, Werleen Taveras, Amir Garrett, Jose Guzman and Jeremy Kivel handed out bike charms to students wearing helmets at Estrella Mountain Elementary and Westar Elementary in Goodyear, AZ.

Feb. 21, 2013 - Reds & Indians Annual Charity Golf Tournament
Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians participated in the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Reds & Cleveland Indians Charity Golf Classic at Golf Club of Estrella on February 21, 2013 to raise money for the H.O.P.E. Team. Founded in 2009, the H.O.P.E. Team is a non-profit organization which exists to support the patients at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Western Regional Medical Center. This year's golf tournament raised over $21,500. This will provide patients and their families with fun experiences such as trail rides or trips to the Phoenix Zoo. Some of this year's Reds participants were Mat Latos, Corky Miller, Chris Speier, George Foster, Miguel Cairo, Nick Travieso and Tom Browning.
