Seat Selection Event FAQs

Seat Selection Frequently Asked Questions

The following frequently asked questions (FAQ's) are for Chicago Cubs Season Ticket Waiting List members who have been given a specific appointment time to come to Wrigley Field to select seats.

I am high on the list (low waiting list number), how is my appointment time determined?
Appointment times are determined by account number. Waiting list members with the lowest account numbers are assigned the earliest appointment times (i.e. #1 is the first).
Is the event weather permitting; what happens if the weather is bad?
The Chicago Cubs Season Ticket Holder Waiting List seat selection event will be held regardless of any negative weather conditions. Please dress comfortably for the weather as the seating bowl is exposed to any inclement weather and can become slippery. Should the weather prevent access to the seating bowl, seats will be selected from the Chicago Cubs Administrative Offices.
What should I bring to the event?
To enter the event you will be required to bring your Seat Selection Event Information form that has your account information and appointment time on it. You will also need to bring a photo ID. We will be verifying waiting list members and pre-designated proxies by photo ID. Only proxies with forms on file prior to the seat selection event will be able to select seating on behalf of the waiting list member of record. You will also need to bring credit card or check payment for a 10% non-refundable first payment on the total invoice amount of the seats you select.
How many seats will I be able to purchase?
You will be able to purchase up to 8 seats (pending availability). The Chicago Cubs reserve the right to make final determination of seat quantity and assignment. The Chicago Cubs reserve the right to limit the purchase of seating locations that leave single seat or odd seat locations.
What different types of packages are available?
The Daily Plan (Full Season), which includes all 81 regular season home games, is offered to waiting list members in the seating bowl and Budweiser Bleacher general admission seating area. Also, we will offer the Combination Plan in the Budweiser Bleachers. The Combination Plan consists of all night and weekend games, Opening Day, and all Holidays (Labor Day in 2013) for a total of 57 games in the 2013 season.
What are the benefits of becoming a season ticket holder?
In addition to Postseason ticket options as well as the opportunity to renew your seating location each year, a complete list of added benefits can be found here »
How many people can I bring with me to select my seats?
Please feel free to bring anyone who is involved in your season ticket purchase to your appointment time. Only the waiting list member of record or designated proxy may make seating decisions.
What if I can't attend my assigned time?
Please refer to the Season Ticket Holder Waiting List Seat Selection Information Sheet and Proxy form. If you are unable to attend your assigned time, you have 2 options:
  1. Use the proxy form you received to designate someone to choose your seats on your behalf.
  2. Use the proxy form you received to allow a Chicago Cubs representative to offer you seats over the phone based on preferences indicated on your proxy form.
What if I don't show up to the seat selection event at my assigned appointment time?
If you do not show up at your assigned appointment time, and there are seats available to purchase at your assigned appointment time, your name will be removed from the waiting list and your position on the list will be forfeited. Should you wish to get back on the waiting list, you may sign up again and obtain a new waiting list number at the end of the list. If there are only general admission Budweiser Bleachers seats available at your assigned seat selection appointment time, you will be allowed to stay on the list if you decline purchasing Budweiser Bleachers season tickets.
What if I send someone on my behalf to select seats and they do not select seats?
If you send someone on your behalf to select seats at your scheduled appointment time, and there are seats available to purchase and the person you designate does not purchase available seats, your name will be removed from the waiting list and your position on the list will be forfeited.
How will I determine what seats are available?
Seats that are available will be marked with a colored seat tag. To select an available seat location, simply ask a Cubs representative to remove the seat tags and take them to the check-out area where your account will be created. You will be given more detailed instructions at the Seat Selection Event.
What if two people want the same seats?
While seats are available on a first come, first served basis, if two waiting list members both want the same available location at the exact same time, the account that has the greater account tenure (by waiting list number) has the right to purchase the available location.
I've been on the waiting list for a long time, what if the seats I want aren't available? Can I stay on the list?
If there are locations available in the seating bowl but you decline purchasing tickets this year, your name will be removed from the waiting list and your position on the list will be forfeited. Should you wish to get back on the waiting list, you may sign up again and obtain a new waiting list number at the end of the list. If there are only general admission Budweiser Bleachers seats available, you will be allowed to stay on the list if you decline purchasing Budweiser Bleachers season tickets.
What if I want to upgrade my seat location in the future?
Each off season, the Chicago Cubs hold a relocation process that allows renewing season ticket holders the opportunity, based on account tenure, to upgrade into non-renewed seat locations.
Can I hold seats at the seat selection event and check with my ticket partners? How long do I have to decide?
The seat selection event will move in real time and seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Once you have selected your seat location, you will be required to make a 10% non-refundable first payment of your total invoice amount at the seat selection event. Seats cannot be held at the seat selection event without payment.
When is full payment due? Is there a payment plan?
Payment in full is due by February 12, 2013. We do not have a structured payment plan, however you are welcome to pay any amount toward your ticket package at any time, as long as the balance is paid in full by February 12, 2013.
What is my 10% first payment based on?
Your first payment, due at the time of your seat selection to secure your seats, is based on 10% of the post-tax total for the seats that you select. The first payment is non-refundable.
I'm going in on these with a friend. Can I have 2 names on my account?
The Chicago Cubs recognize one season ticket holder of record per account. Your ticket partners are welcome to pay us directly for their portion of your season ticket package, but ultimately, the ticket package must be in your name.
Can I purchase a season parking pass? If so, where are the lots and what is the cost?
At this time we do not currently have availability in any of our lots for season parking. Green Lot and Irving Park Lot parking passes can be purchased on an individual game basis beginning on March 9th, pending availability.
What is the United Club and how do I become a member?
The United Club is a private club, open on game days only, offering an array of gourmet a la carte menu items along with a delicious pre-game Chef's Table featuring specialties from Levy Restaurants for purchase. United Club Membership is available for $900 for the 2013 season.
When will I get my tickets? Can I pick them up or have them shipped to an alternate address?
Season ticket packages are shipped via FedEx to the address on your season ticket account in March. Season tickets can also be picked up or shipped to an alternate address.
In future years, if I move or want to give my seats to someone else, are my seats transferable?
The Chicago Cubs season tickets are not transferable. The Chicago Cubs own and control all rights to season ticket locations. Season tickets are a revocable license and the Chicago Cubs reserve the right to make final determination of seat assignment. Your location is a revocable license granted on a yearly basis, provided all payment deadlines are adhered to, and subject to all rules and regulations set forth. Purchasers of season tickets have no right to transfer the seat location(s) to an existing or new account. If you decide to relinquish your seats at any time for any reason, the location is reassigned at the discretion of the Chicago Cubs. In the event the tickets are in a company name and the contact person wants to make a change, a formal request in writing, on company letterhead, must be made, and the tickets must remain in the company name. The change must be signed by the account holder of record and an officer of the company.
