Chicago Cubs Charities' 6th Annual Race to Wrigley 5k Run, which starts and finishes at legendary Wrigley Field, helps kick off the baseball season and runners and sponsors can show their support for a good cause. This year, personal fundraising proceeds will benefit Children's Memorial Hospital-after you sign up for the race, then register as a fundraiser and make every step count.
The course route proceeds through the streets of the Lakeview neighborhood before returning to the Friendly Confines, where runners run through Wrigley Field's ground level concourse, finishing under the famed Wrigley Field Marquee at Clark and Addison.

Chicago Cubs Charities supplements the efforts of the team to harness the passion of Chicago Cubs fans and improve the lives of children and families across Chicago. In making grants and undertaking sponsorships, Chicago Cubs Charities supports youth sports, fitness and health, education and literacy, children with special needs, the Lakeview Community, MLB related events and Cubs Care donations.
There will be separate starting corrals for those with chips and those without. Chip-Timed runners will start first at 8 a.m. Once all of the chip-timed runners have gone through we will move up the fun run participants to the starting line and start at approximately 8:10 a.m.
The 2011 Race to Wrigley will be capped at 10,000 total runners. Once this capacity is reached, registration will be closed.
Packets can be picked up on race morning from 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m.
Your shirt and bib number can be mailed for an additional $7 if registered by March 1, 2011.
All Participants receive a performance management running shirt.
Online registration closes at noon (central time) on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 or when the race capacity has been reached.
You must sign up in advance to participate in the chip timed run. NO CHIP TIMING REGISTRATION ON RACE DAY. Chips will be picked up with your race number. The computer chip will attach to your shoe. The chip must be worn around for the entire event in order to receive an official time.
Official times will only be taken for individuals who register for chip timing. Time clocks will be provided at miles 1,2 and 3 as well as the finish line. The top overall male and overall female winners and the top three men and women in the following age groups will be awarded: 14 & Under; 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Results will be available following the event at www.chicagoevents.com.
There will be a limited amount of FREE event parking in the Cubs Green Lot on Grace Street at Clifton Avenue, just east of Clark Street.
Chicago Special Events Management does not give refunds or transfer fees to another event or another person.
Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, is recognized as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country by rankings published in U.S. News & World Report and serves as a major regional referral center. Its physicians are on the faculty at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. The hospital is currently engaged in the Heroes for Life campaign to raise a minimum of $600 million to help create the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and support its medical and nursing professionals, programs and research.
