Marlon sponsors an RBI team through the Union League Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to play organized baseball.

In 2010, Marlon participated in the Taylor Hooton Foundation's Hoot's Chalk Talk program and the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers PLAY program, meeting with kids at Wrigley Field to discuss the dangers of drug use.

Also in 2010, Marlon visited the Union League Boys and Girls Club to conduct a baseball clinic for kids.

Starlin Castro

Starlin was awarded the 2010 State of Illinois Athletic Achievement Award for National Hispanic Heritage Month. This award was presented by Secretary of State Jesse White.

Starlin Castro will step behind the counter to take orders at Sprinkles Cupcakes on April 2, 2011. Sprinkles will celebrate the kick-off for the Chicago Cubs season with a special Red Velvet Cupcake adorned with the Cubs logo. The special Cubs Cupcake ($3.50) will be on sale Monday, March 28 through Saturday, April 2 with 100% of the proceeds to benefit the Chicago Cubs Charities.

Chicago Cubs Charities supports programs that promote children and young-adult interest in sports, particularly baseball. Other areas of support include community-based services targeted to low- and moderate-income families and individuals; community development initiatives; and schools, parks, open spaces and organizations within the immediate area surrounding Wrigley Field.

During the 2010 season, Tyler visited patients at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Tyler attended the Cubs Care grant luncheon in April 2010 to help present more than $1 million to Cubs Care grant recipients.

Tyler was the Cubs 2010 recipient of the Heart & Hustle award. This award is given by the Major League Baseball Alumni Association to the player who "demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game."

Ryan Dempster

Ryan hosts the Hamlin Little League team at Wrigley Field through Dempster's Dugout Ticket Program.

Since 2006, Ryan has donated tickets and concession vouchers to nonprofit groups working with underprivileged children in the Chicagoland area through his Dempster's Dugout Ticket Program. He hosts hundreds of children each season and meets with them during batting practice to talk baseball and sign autographs.

In 2006 and 2008, Ryan was the Chicago Cubs recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award, given to a Major League Baseball player on each team who excels on the field and is also committed to community work.

Early this year, Ryan and his wife Jenny started the Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness for DiGeorge Syndrome/VCFS and reaching out to families with children with the disorder, and the charities that support them. The first official fundraiser, The Dempster Foundation Casino Night and Concert, was held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at House of Blues Chicago.

Blake DeWitt

Since being traded to the Cubs in July 2010, Blake frequently met with kids and groups coming to the ballpark throughout the season.

Thomas Diamond

During the 2010 season, Thomas visited schools throughout the Chicago area. He spent time at Blaine & Hawthorne School, Lincoln Park High School, and Kenwood Academy School.

Ivan DeJesus

Ivan accompanied Sean Marshall to the wheelchair softball clinic for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Caring for Kids program, which provides sports and recreation opportunities for children with physical disabilities. He spent the afternoon providing tips and signing autographs for the participants and their families.

Kosuke Fukudome

Kosuke sponsors an RBI team through the Union League Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to play organized baseball.

John Grabow

After joining the Chicago Cubs in August 2009, John Grabow attended the 2009 West Side Rooters Ball to raise funds for Chicago Cubs Charities, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Dominican Development Alliance.

During the 2010 season, John donated tickets and gift certificates to Gilda's Club Chicago, a support community for men, women, and children living with cancer. John spent time with the group during batting practice to talk baseball and sign autographs.

Angel attended the grand opening of Little Cubs Field in Humboldt Park in May 2009. The $2 million Little League field was built through a partnership between Chicago Cubs Charities, the Chicago Park District and the Parkways Foundation.

Koyie Hill

On December 5, 2009, Cubs catcher Koyie Hill hosted Koyie Hill's Big Wish to benefit The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Kansas. The event was held in Wichita, Kansas, and featured a performance by country singer Tracy Byrd, a silent auction of sports memorabilia and the chance to mingle with a number of Major League Baseball players, including fellow Chicago Cubs.

Sean also met with children to help fulfill their wish of meeting Chicago Cubs players in conjunction with The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Sean also visited patients at Children's Memorial Hospital with fellow teammates Andrew Cashner and Tyler Colvin.

Sean's charitable efforts are not limited to Chicago, as he volunteered his time to prepare and serve dinner at Paz de Cristo, a community center and food bank in Mesa, Arizona, home of the Cubs spring training facilities. In addition, Sean has helped to raise funds for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis in the Phoenix, Arizona, area.

Aramis Ramirez

Aramis sponsors an RBI team through the Union League Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to play organized baseball.

In 2009, Aramis met with children to help fulfill their wish of meeting Chicago Cubs players in conjunction with The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Aramis also supported Children's Memorial Hospital in 2009 by participating in their Bedtime Stories program. The crew from Children's taped him reading a bedtime story in Spanish which now plays on the hospital's Skylight TV network in the evenings.

Aramis teamed up with the Chicago Public Library to film a Public Service Announcement (PSA) encouraging kids to read. Posters were also made of Aramis for this campaign.

Jeff Samardzija

In memory of his mother, Jeff established the Debora Samardzija Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to a Notre Dame University student who has endured the loss of a loved one.

Alfonso Soriano

Alfonso attended the 2009 West Side Rooters Ball to help raise funds for Chicago Cubs Charities, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Dominican Development Alliance.

In 2008 and 2009, Geovany Soto was the chairman of the West Side Rooters Ball. The event was held at Harry Caray's Italian Steakhouse and featured live and silent auctions with proceeds benefitting Chicago Cubs Charities, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Dominican Development Alliance. Over two years the ball has raised more than $100,000.

Geovany sponsors an RBI team through the Union League Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to play organized baseball. In 2009, Geovany met with children to help fulfill their wish of meeting Chicago Cubs players in conjunction with The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In August 2008, Geovany attended the ground breaking of Little Cubs Field in Humboldt Park. The $2 million Little League field was built through a partnership between Chicago Cubs Charities, the Chicago Park District and the Parkways Foundation.

During the 2010 season, Geovany, in conjunction with the Pepsi Refresh Project, hosted a baseball clinic in Los Angeles, California and at Humboldt Park (in Chicago).

UMPS CARE Charities

The Chicago Cubs partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball game experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs. Children receive a VIP experience including great seats to see the Cubs at Wrigley Field, a goody bag of 'all things baseball', and the unique opportunity to step onto the field for a souvenir baseball and photo.

UMPS CARE Charities, a 501c3 non-profit organization founded by Major League Baseball umpires, created the BLUE Crew Tickets program to share the gift of baseball with children and strengthen relationships between children and the adults who aim to make a difference in their lives. Randy attended the 2009 West Side Rooters Ball to help raise funds for Chicago Cubs Charities, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Dominican Development Alliance.

On November 6, 2009, Randy hosted the first Randy Wells Golf Classic in his home town of Belleville, IL. The second annual Randy Wells Golf Classic is scheduled for November 6, 2010.

Randy's support for Children's Memorial Hospital continued through the 2010 season when he hosted the Inaugural Annual Red Dirt Music Fest on August 4th at Joe's Bar in Chicago featuring country music stars Brandon Jenkins, Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, and the Arsenals as the headliner.

Carlos Zambrano

Carlos sponsors an RBI team through the Union League Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, which provides inner-city youth the opportunity to play organized baseball.

In August 2008, Carlos attended the ground breaking of Little Cubs Field in Humboldt Park. The $2 million Little League field was built through a partnership between Chicago Cubs Charities, the Chicago Park District and the Parkways Foundation.

In 2010, Carlos started the Big Z Foundation which aims to help underprivileged families in 3rd world countries and specific Chicago communities. Carlos launched his new foundation with the Fogo de Chao dinner and silent auction event in January.
