Grant Guidelines

Cubs Care Grant Guidelines

The McCormick Foundation, through its fund Cubs Care, has granted more than $16 million to Chicago non-profit organizations since 1991. Cubs Care grants are awarded to 501c3 designated organizations. Priority in consideration is given to organizations which have been in existence for at least three years and request support for programs in operation for at least a year.

Program Guidelines
Grants are made from Cubs Care in response to applications from organizations serving the following people or addressing the Primary Interests detailed below.

Primary Interests

  • Youth Sports: to support programs that use sports to positively impact the health and/or academic performance of children and youth
  • Child/Youth Education: to help children and youth achieve academic success, complete high school, and enter post-secondary education programs
  • Health and Wellness: to support programs that promote healthy living practices and provide access to health care services for low income individuals
  • Housing: to support prevention programs that keep individuals and families at-risk of homelessness in stable housing, and for housing programs with support services for homeless individuals and families

The McCormick Foundation does not make grants to programs that would financially benefit Cubs Care.
