The Chicago Cubs and the Mesa HoHoKams will host the inaugural Chicago Cubs Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, March 18, at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Proceeds from the event will benefit Chicago Cubs Charities and be dedicated to the HoHoKam Foundation, Sunshine Acres Children's Home and Banner Cardon Children's Hospital in Mesa.
Cubs legends Ernie Banks and Billy Williams, along with general manager Jim Hendry and assistant general manager Randy Bush, are among those scheduled to participate in the golf event.
Prizes for winners, sponsors and golfers include a chance to sing the 7th inning stretch during a Cubs game in Arizona and recognition on the field during a spring training pregame ceremony. Participants will be grouped into foursomes and assigned a celebrity guest for the tournament. The event includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf, followed by a luncheon at HoHoKam Stadium to watch the Cubs host the Cincinnati Reds. The golf tournament format is full scramble with a shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing teams and all players will have four chances to win a car with a hole-in-one. Each foursome will also receive an autographed photo with their celebrity partners.
Tournament Sponsorships are available from $2,500, $5,000, $10,000 and $20,000 including golf and baseball.
